Restore is defined as the effort to bring back to a state of health, soundness and vigor.
Restore Us is a program developed for service providers, aimed at addressing the all too often negative effects of working in such emotionally charged environments. This program is not self-care; it is not motivational; it is not team building; it is merely a conduit for tapping into the compassion and empathy that led one to the profession. It is intended to connect or reconnect one to the passion that drives you each day you provide service.
Most of us became social workers, counselors, therapists, case workers, because we wanted to assist others in need. Yet our capacity for compassion, along with the intensity of our work can, at times, leave us feeling hopeless and helpless.
Restore Us intends to offset some of the inevitable butterfly effect of our work. Restore Us aims to leave you equipped with techniques for cultivating empathy resilience in an effort to continue to stay the course.
